Hello, I'm
Leo(nardo)

I decided to create this campaign with one mission: to find a job in Barcelona, and for this I want you to get to know me beyond a simple piece of paper or an ad.

My name is Leonardo Salinas, or simply Leo.

(Hi)

Six years ago, in February 2020, I emigrated to Barcelona from Chile.

I was 35 years old. One suitcase, one thousand euros, no papers, and no job contacts.

After five years of resilience, between online jobs and unofficial ones, today I have my legal residency and I am looking for my next professional destination.

I sent CVs to jobs related to my background, as well as to others that did not require experience.

I used LinkedIn, InfoJobs, Job Today, and who knows what else.

Nothing.

In some 'rejected'. From others, I never got a response.

Finding a job can be difficult.

That is why I decided to step outside the box and showcase my profile this way.

I specialize in bringing communication and branding projects to life, managing from strategy to content creation.

I have led the development of brand activities, and I have participated in the production of massive events and festivals.

It's what I know how to do. Even so, I've always been enthusiastic about what I don't know yet.

I'm not afraid to learn and start from scratch. In fact, it motivates me.

I'm excited to think about what can happen when you make an important decision, like emigrating to another country, changing jobs, or starting a business.

Albert Einstein quote: If you want different results, don't always do the same thing

Barcelona has become my home, and my goal is to consolidate my professional future here.

I am looking to integrate through long-term employment where I can contribute my experience and commitment.

My priority is to establish a stable working relationship and achieve permanent standing in the local labor market.

If you're looking for someone who knows what it's like to start from the bottom, learns in record time, and brings a unique perspective, here I am.

I need to know more about you...

I am Leo(nardo) Salinas, a professional in project management related to communication, content, and marketing. With life stories, just like everyone else.

I arrived in Barcelona from Chile in early 2020 with a great desire to make my way and expand my contact networks. A surprising pandemic changed the course of my plans.

Since then, my life has alternated between remote projects for clients abroad and several others I did "under the table" to support myself. It was me and my 2015 laptop against the world. Throughout this process, I waited patiently for my legal residency, which I finally obtained after five years.

My proposal is not just about getting a job; I also see it as an opportunity to grow, learn, and collaborate with people with whom I can share projects and ideas.

I am open to everything. I would like to find something related to my experience in communication and events, but I have no filters. I am looking for stable employment where I can contribute my energy and commitment.

Primarily, I focus on managing projects in the areas of communication, content, and branding for brands, events, companies and all kinds of projects that require connecting their products or services with their audience.

I have led brand activities and participated in productions of massive festivals. Additionally, I have been developing web and multimedia projects since I was a teenager.

“Higher Level Technician in Multimedia Communication,” says my diploma. However, everything I know how to do, I have actually learned through every project and challenge I have been involved in, mixed with my own curiosity.

If I had to think of a specific sector I enjoy, I am passionate about the sports industry (all sports, including motorsports), gaming, festivals, and conventions in general. However, I am open to exploring opportunities in other sectors where I can add value as a person.

Problem-solving. I have spent a large part of my career in front of a computer figuring things out and pushing projects forward with whatever resources I had at hand. I will do the same with or without the need for a computer.

I offer sound judgment for decision making, curiosity to improve processes, creativity to carry out all kinds of projects, and a proactive attitude. I don't wait to be told what to do if I see something that can be improved.

Additionally, I bring my "backpack" of knowledge and use of digital tools.

I'm not that bad with a drill in my hand either, but construction work is best left to more qualified people.

my most frequent work tools are:

  • My brain.
  • Paper and a pen.
  • Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms) and similar tools.
  • As AI assistants: ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity.
  • For design: Canva. And for vectors: Affinity.
  • If I need to edit videos: LumaFusion, CapCut, and YouCut.
  • To organize my work: Google Drive, Notion, Trello, Miro.
  • For social media management: Meta Business Suite, Metricool, Buffer, among others.
  • If I need to set up campaigns: Google Ads, Meta Ads, and TikTok Ads.
  • If I need emailing: MailChimp.
  • To write code: Visual Studio Code.
  • To communicate: WhatsApp, Meet, Zoom, Teams, Discord, Slack, whichever you prefer.
  • Currently learning more about: AI Agents (Make, CrewAI) and AI content creation (Higgsfield, Nano Banana, Kling, Weavy).

I cannot invoice. I am not self-employed (autónomo).

My current residency allows me to be employed by others, meaning I need a contract. And this same contract will allow me to renew my residency to obtain permanent residency. After that, we'll see.

For now, I am looking for an employment contract, but I am open to other forms of collaboration for the future. I love meeting new people and expanding my contact networks, so if you have an interesting proposal, don't hesitate to write to me.

An indefinite contract, either full-time or part-time.

I live in Barcelona, near Lesseps, so I can commute without any problems. I also have experience working remotely.

Yes, I can start as soon as tomorrow if necessary.

Currently, my life happens here. I already know the streets, I have my favorite bar, people in my neighborhood greet me and, among so many stories of moving in my past, I prefer to have a bit of stability before making another decision like that. Therefore, no, I am not thinking about moving. Barcelona is my home right now.

I do not have a driver's license (it expired in 2021 and I never homologated it here). I intend to obtain it again in the future.

Currently, I mostly get around on foot or by bike in the city, although I also use public transportation or taxis when necessary.

My mother tongue is Spanish (and Chilean Spanish, no entenderiai ni una wea). I also speak English at an intermediate level, which allows me to communicate and work in that language when necessary. Currently, I continue studying Catalan to improve my integration into the local community and expand my job opportunities in Barcelona.

And I've been on a streak for more than two years on Duolingo. Consistency is key.

In recent years, I have become very fond of photography, especially portraits of people and capturing spontaneous moments. I also make videos with shops in my neighborhood (like this one) and I collect photos of @perrosaparcados.

I also like discovering new music, learning more about AI tools, exercising, following F1, playing chess, or playing online video games with my brother who lives in Chile (hi little brother, I love you!), cycling around the city, and discovering new places to visit, eat, or drink. I am quite a homebody, but also restless and curious.

Additionally, I have tennis rackets, padel rackets, and also beach tennis paddles that I don't use as much as I would like, but I would love to pick it up again.

This will forever be the best reference I have ever received. You don't need another one.
